The weather forecast promised strong auroras, so my wife and I headed to a nearby lake. Just before leaving, I saw a message from local aurora hunters needing fuel. I quickly agreed, dropped my wife home, and joined the group of six people in two cars.

Though the auroras didn’t dance much, there was a beautiful green band in the sky for over two hours. We had time to take some great photos. My only regret is not bringing my wife along.
