Nepal has been grappling with the alarming loss of approximately 200,000 hectares of forest area annually since 2005. Each dry season brings a recurring challenge, and sadly, the government’s readiness to combat forest fires remains minimal. It is my earnest hope that the authorities will establish a dedicated institutional framework to effectively tackle this pressing issue soon.
